Beaches Near Casa de Olivos

The Best of the Costa del Azahar

Casa de Olivos is just 15 minutes from the Blue Flag beaches of Vinaròs, on the Costa del Azahar. This stretch of coastline remains largely unspoilt and far less crowded than many Spanish Costas, offering kilometres of pale sand, clear water, and a mix of lively town beaches and peaceful hidden coves.

Well maintained year-round, these beaches are ideal for swimming, walking, snorkelling, or simply slowing down by the Mediterranean.

Vinaròs Beaches – Blue Flag & Local Favourites

Playa del Fortí, the main beach in Vinaròs, is a wide Blue Flag beach with golden, coarse sand. It sits directly in front of the town’s palm-lined promenade, dotted with red metal sculptures and backed by a generous choice of bars and restaurants — perfect for an easy beach day with lunch just steps away.

Walking north from Playa del Fortí, the coastline becomes quieter and more natural. Here you’ll discover smaller beaches and coves, including Cala del Pinar, a particularly beautiful spot surrounded by pine trees. Its mix of golden sand, pebbles, and rocky edges creates a unique landscape, and the clear waters make it ideal for swimming and snorkelling.

Other peaceful coves along this stretch include Cala de les Timbes and La Sunyera, located within the Jardí del Sòl de Riu nature reserve. These lesser-known beaches are favourites with guests looking for space, calm, and a more intimate connection with nature.

Cala de Sòl de Riu is another unspoilt Vinaròs beach, set in a more isolated area of coastline. Quiet and natural, it is often enjoyed by naturists.

Peñíscola – Iconic Beaches & Historic Setting

Around 25 minutes from Casa de Olivos, Peñíscola is the area’s most famous seaside town. Its dramatic castle rises directly from the sea, creating one of the most recognisable beach settings in Spain.

Playa Norte stretches for almost 5 kilometres beneath the Papa Luna Castle and offers long expanses of fine sand in a spectacular location. Playa Sur, near the fishing port, is smaller and calmer, making it popular for sailing, windsurfing, and other water sports.

To the south of Peñíscola, within the Parque Natural de la Serra d’Irta, Playa del Pebret and a series of hidden coves offer a more natural and untouched beach experience. Some of these secluded spots are clothing-optional and popular with naturists.

Peñíscola is lively and atmospheric, especially in peak season, and many guests enjoy visiting for the day before returning to the peace and space of Casa de Olivos.

Benicarló Beaches – Easygoing & Welcoming

Just beyond Vinaròs lies Benicarló, home to several well-kept beaches. Playa de Morrongo, a Blue Flag beach close to the port, offers around 300 metres of golden sand with a good selection of bars and restaurants nearby.

For a more rustic feel, Playa del Mar Chica (Playa Norte) is a quieter pebble beach, while Playa de la Caracola stretches along the coast, connecting Benicarló with Peñíscola via a long sandy shoreline.

Coast and Countryside – The Best of Both Worlds

Staying at Casa de Olivos allows you to enjoy the Mediterranean coast without sacrificing peace or privacy. You can spend the morning swimming in the sea and the afternoon back among the olive groves, relaxing by the pool with mountain views and open countryside all around.

It’s this balance — unspoilt beaches, historic seaside towns, and a secluded rural setting — that makes the Costa del Azahar such a rewarding place to explore.
