Stunning Location

Authentic Rural Spain Near the Costa del Azahar

Casa de Olivos is set in authentic rural Spain, at the heart of an ancient olive-growing landscape in the countryside near Vinaròs and the Costa del Azahar. Overlooking the traditional town of Traiguera in Castellón province, our secluded location offers space, privacy, and calm — just inland from the Mediterranean coast.

Guests often tell us how peaceful and restorative it feels here. Away from busy roads, crowds, and overdevelopment, Casa de Olivos provides the freedom and tranquillity of a countryside retreat, while still being perfectly placed to explore both coast and culture.

A Landscape Shaped by Olive Groves and Mountains

Surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, the views stretch across open valleys to distant hills and mountains. Small rural villages are scattered across the landscape, creating a timeless sense of place that feels deeply connected to the land.

Whether you’re relaxing by the pool or exploring on foot, this is a setting that encourages you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature. Many guests tell us that the landscape alone is reason enough to return.

Life Among Working Olive Groves

Casa de Olivos is set within an active agricultural landscape, surrounded by working olive groves that have shaped this area for generations. At certain times of year, guests may see local farmers tending the trees or hear the distant sounds of rural life — such as tractors during pruning or harvest seasons.

For many guests, this is part of the charm of staying here. It’s a chance to experience authentic rural Spain as it really is, connected to the land, the seasons, and traditional olive oil production. While the setting is peaceful and secluded, it remains a living countryside rather than a manicured resort.

We find that guests who appreciate nature, space, and authenticity feel especially at home here.

Walks, Villages and Local Life on Your Doorstep

From the gates of Casa de Olivos, kilometres of walking and cycling routes lead through olive groves, countryside trails, and quiet lanes. The towns of Traiguera and Sant Jordi are around a 30-minute walk away, offering local markets, cafés, tapas bars, and a warm welcome from residents.

This is a wonderful place to experience everyday Spanish life — picking up fresh produce, enjoying a beer in a village square, or discovering a local fiesta, historic church, or hidden viewpoint.

Perfectly Placed Between Coast and Natural Parks

Casa de Olivos is ideally located for exploring both the coast and inland nature. The Blue Flag beaches of Vinaròs and the Costa del Azahar are just a 15-minute drive away, offering long sandy beaches, coastal walks, and seaside restaurants.

In different directions, around 30 minutes by car, lie two outstanding natural parks:

  • Serra d’Irta Natural Park, where rugged hills meet the Mediterranean Sea
  • Tinença de Benifassà Natural Park, a dramatic mountainous landscape of forests, gorges, and traditional villages

Being positioned between these two protected areas makes Casa de Olivos a unique base for nature lovers, walkers, and slow travellers.
