If they can feel the love, can we market the love?

Created with love • Treated with care • Adored by guests

Like millions of small business owners we have devoted ourselves, and our finances, to developing our product – which in our case is a boutique tourist accommodation in rural Spain.

We have poured love into it, and the end result is hugely personal. An extension of us and our values.

Some recent guest reviews reminded us just how important all that thought and care is to our customers. So many guests take the time to pick out particular elements that they enjoyed while staying at Casa de Olivos, but one wrapped it all up saying “everything in the house is made with great love”. The sense that we care clearly matters.

Holiday accommodation is an industry where reviews really matter, and we are motivated daily to exceed expectations and take nothing for granted. These guest endorsements of our two unique apartments, make the effort worthwhile and tell us we’re on the right path.

But it got us thinking as well. How is it that a guest can understand all that was done to make their experience so special, and feel the love?

Throughout our marketing of Casa de Olivos, one thing we have deliberately shied away from talking about is the love that went into creating this rural retreat, and that continues to be essential to growing it. Maybe it’s because we’re British, but it just feels so awkward to be talking about our own product in those terms.

However through our various interactions and reviews we have come to realise that guests are not only giving us permission to do just that, but our target customer demands that we talk about the love. For them, choosing somewhere to stay that was built with love is second nature. It means that they will experience something authentic and consequential, and it implies that they, as guests of Casa de Olivos, will be treated with that same care.

Mass-market tourist accommodation has it’s place for sure, but it cannot talk to guests about love and care. The boutique, artisanal, and hand-made can. We should own that and not be shy about sharing with our guests the reason why Casa de Olivos stands out in the crowd.

The reason why they will have such a memorable and unique experience here.

So let me introduce you to the new Casa de Olivos tagline:
